I became a kitty mom on a Friday the 13th in August of 2004. 5 newly born kitties were abandoned by mom in the shrubbery under my dining room window. I lost one that first weekend because they had been without food for approximately 24 hours. By Monday I began searching for someone to help and found Feline Specialties--cats only, yea! Karla and Jane were awesome in caring for the remaining 4--even calling when 2 more passed away. Walter (first named Wednesday) was the lone survivor. (I had named his brother Joe Friday because he was the only black kitty--the ladies continued by calling each one a day of the week). By mid-October, the ladies had found Walter a brother in a litter that had been abandoned. I got to meet the baby in the cutest way--they had me close my eyes and put him on my shoulder--it was love at first purr! He was a long-haired tuxedo to Walter's short-haired tuxedo. All were anxious to hear my choice of name--Jack, as in Jack Lemmon, the movie actor who appeared with Walter Matthau in "Grumpy Old Men." These two kitties were like the actors--polar opposites! The care at Feline Specialties has extended to my additions and unfortunate subtractions (Jack passed of cancer in 2013). All of these ladies and gentlemen are awesome caregivers!

In late 2015 one of our cats, Big'Un (15 yrs old) stopped eating which was completely out of character. We took him to our vet and were horrified when the vet said that he should probably be put down because he had Mega Colon. We asked about treatment and were told the only way to treat it was to do enemas every week and that it was very uncomfortable for the cat and his quality of life would suffer. I immediately started looking for a veterinarian that specialized in cats and found Feline Specialties. Thank God. Dr. Zinn said that she had had great outcomes by simply changing diet and if that did not work she said that surgery might also be an option if needed. The diet worked!!!! Big'Un, now 17, is doing very well.
Feline Specialties is our regular vet now for all of our babies. The entire staff at Feline Specialties are extremely friendly and very compassionate. When we had to put one of our babies to sleep and used a mobile veterinarian so it could be done at home the entire staff at Feline Specialties signed a condolence card that was very much appreciated in our time of sadness.
We always recommend Feline Specialties any one who is looking for a veterinarian for their cats.

They treat your pets as if they were their own. The office staff is so helpful and friendly. I had a loss recently and they were all so wonderful and caring about my feelings and wishes. "A friend of mine used to board her cat at Feline Specialties when she went on trips, so I used to go visit him in his "kitty condo" there to check up on him for her. It is always fun to go along the sidewalk outside to peek into the "condo" windows and watch the cats play and watch you back! So when I got two new kitties of my own, I of course had to take them there for their care. When they got a little older, they both participated in one of the cat food studies for older cats, and while they didn't enjoy the more frequent requisite check-ups, I always knew they were in excellent hands. The staff is always so kind and caring, and both doctors are great, and very gentle and careful during exams. I just recently had to do the compassionate thing and have one of my fur-babies put to sleep, and the staff and Dr. O'Cain could not have been nicer. They allowed me private time with Heather to say goodbye, and then were so kind as they explained every step of the process as Heather left this world so peacefully. They sent a sweet card and a paw-print mold of Heather's the next day, so I was very touched. To anyone who has cats, I highly recommend Feline Specialties - they will take the best care of your furry friends from kitten to adulthood and beyond!"
